Obsessive-compulsive disorder is real.  Now, here is the hoax, actually many, many hoaxes.  For now, we will provide you with just four of the major hoaxes.

Major Hoax #1:  Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a mental illness.

The fact is that obsessive-compulsive disorder is a “basket name”‘; that is, obsessive-compulsive disorder is the name of a group of mental illnesses.  Some of them are extremely mild and one of them is extremely severe.

Major Hoax #2: Many people have obsessive-compulsive disorder.

The fact is that only a few people have obsessive-compulsive disorder, about one (1) in one hundred thousand (100,000) people.

Major Hoax #3: Obsessive-compulsive disorder is a diseased condition of the brain.

The fact is that 99% of obsessive-compulsive disorder cases are psychogenic (“not physical”).

Major Hoax #4 Obsessive-compulsive disorder can only be cured with medications.

The fact is that 99% of obsessive-compulsive disorder cases can be cured without medication.
